The GM/CEO of National Theatre, Prof Sunday Ododo today presented a paper at The Africast 2023 event, powered by NBC (National Broadcasting Commission). The paper focused on the battle to protect cultural values in a fragmented digital ecosystem.
According to Prof “As Nigeria’s digital landscape expands, it becomes crucial to preserve and balance cultural heritage within this context. The digital world presents opportunities to showcase Nigeria’s rich cultural endowments, even from remote villages.”
Furthermore, he opined that “One key aspect is ensuring the authenticity of information shared on media platforms.” To him, unverified stories should not be disseminated, as the rapid spread of news in the digital age can lead to misinformation and the misappropriation of news.
