CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

National Theatre Kano Creative Summit 2026

WHEN: 10th – 11th September 2026

WHO CAN APPLY:

This call is open to creatives aged 35 years and under, whether you're just starting out or already have a few projects under your belt. What is most important is that you're actively working in your craft and ready to grow. You should be involved in one of the following:

• Performing Arts: theatre, dance, spoken word, storytelling, contemporary or traditional performance
• Visual Arts: fine art, digital/multimedia art, public art, exhibition or curatorial practice
• Film: production, directing, screenwriting, cinematography, or related work

WHAT TO EXPECT

Over two days, you'll get direct access to industry leaders, legal experts, policymakers, and established practitioners from Nigeria and beyond. The Summit will cover:

• Intellectual property, copyright, and monetisation
• Performance arts training and production
• Visual arts and exhibition practice
• Financial fitness: budgeting, saving, and building sustainable income as a creative

This is also a chance to connect with creatives and institutions from across the country, and to be part of a growing conversation about what the creative economy looks like outside Lagos.
